Abstract
This IDC study provides revenue breakdowns of many major vendors that have
gained the biggest shares in the following human capital management
applications segments: core human resources (HR), erecruiting, incentive
management, performance management, workforce management, and software as a
service (SaaS). A close examination of 25 HCM applications vendors reveals that
the market is on a path of sustainable growth, with increased investments by
customers that have recognized the value of strategic components such as
erecruiting, performance management, and workforce optimization.
"The positioning of these vendors will be going through radical transformation
as customers are leaning toward one-stop shop for their entire employee
life-cycle management needs,' ' said Albert Pang, research director for
Enterprise Applications at IDC. "As vendors become more similar than ever, the
question is whether best-of-breed HCM vendors can continue to prosper without
compromising their unique positioning.' '
