Abstract
This IDC study provides the latest software license and maintenance revenue
shares of more than 250 human capital management and payroll processing
applications vendors between 2004 and 2006. It also provides the overall market
trends that form the basis of the 2007-2011 forecast.
Historical and forecast revenue data is shown for the total worldwide market by
major HCM segment, including core HR, enterprise incentive compensation,
erecruiting, payroll processing, performance management, and workforce
management. Historical and forecast revenue data also include market breakdowns
by geographic region and operating environment.
"The human capital management and payroll processing applications market saw
considerable growth in 2006 because of favorable economic conditions. Even if
the global economy deteriorates, HCM vendors will still be able to offset any
decline in hiring activity by touting their proven benefits of helping
companies deploy employees more intelligently while raising retention rates,
which in turn will lower training costs and boost customer satisfaction
levels,' ' said Albert Pang, research director of Enterprise Applications at IDC.
