Abstract
This IDC study analyses the impact of the changing dynamics in the large
business IT spending on the corresponding opportunities available to printing
and imaging vendors. The study takes a simultaneous close look at the evolving
printing and imaging needs, usage patterns, and buying behaviour of large
businesses in Australia. Insights into both demand- and supply-side dynamics
are brought together, as the research combines inputs from an up-close study of
large businesses with IDC' s ongoing research on printing and imaging, and IT
spending in order to provide a forward-looking and actionable analysis for
hardcopy peripheral vendors.
Rishi Ghai, senior analyst and team leader for Hardcopy Peripheral research,
IDC Australia and New Zealand (ANZ), says, "Large businesses have been at the
heart of IT spending in Australia, as well as globally for a fairly significant
length of time. However, despite the progressive shifts in spending patterns
that are characteristic of a maturing market, not all segments of the IT
industry benefit from the current trend in the large business IT spending - a
fact that IT hardware vendors especially, would attest to."
