Abstract
This IDC study (which is a translation of the Japanese report IDC #J8460101)
provides ten predictions on the Japan services market trends in 2008 based on
analyses of changes related to user needs, vendor competition, technology
infiltration, policies, and legislations.
IDC forecasts that at the Japan IT services market will continue to grow in
2008 despite the uncertain economic outlook. "Various changes are taking place
on the demand side. End users are increasingly involved in SI projects,
contracts are getting smaller, and needs for on-demand services are growing
among others. It is necessary for vendors to take risks and respond actively to
such changes," observes Yukiharu Yorifuji, Group Manager, IT Services, IDC
Japan.
