Abstract
This IDC study examines five vendors in the U.S. hardcopy market that have
consistently targeted growth in share of color hardcopy pages for the past few
years: Canon, HP, Konica Minolta, the Ricoh family, and Xerox. These vendors
have been challenged by Dell, Sharp, and Lexmark in the enterprise environment.
This study reviews the trends of the top 5 vendors in the production
environments of production color 45ppm+ MFPs, high-end color systems (HECS),
and highlight color, and it provides a current profile providing the foundation
for future growth. "Production color vendors will be continually challenged to
create the next fresh case for a color production job to migrate from offset to
