Abstract
This IDC study presents the top 10 predictions for the European digital
marketplace and entertainment services in 2008. The predictions assess the
regional outlook for Internet advertising and social networking and highlight
changing market dynamics in Internet video, pay TV, music, gaming, and
publishing.
"Services across the entertainment spectrum - from pay TV to online gaming -
are incorporating best practices from leading players in the consumer Internet,
everything from enabling UGC to greater targeting of advertising," said Jason
Armitage, senior research analyst, European Digital Media. "In the deluge of
offerings to come, providers must constantly look to add and improve features
on services, including playing close attention to what is working in parallel
sectors."
