Abstract
This IDC study looks at the trends of consumers Internet access market in the
Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) or APEJ. The data leveraged in this survey is
from Project Skypad and focuses on broadband use, WLAN WiFi access in the home,
and online purchases.
"The Internet access market in APEJ continues to show strong growth,
particularly among urban users as network deployments expand and services
available over a broadband connection increase. In order for service providers
(SPs) to continue to migrate narrowband consumers to broadband, they need to
work to bundle voice, video, and data at the proper price point. In addition,
SPs will need to work with content owners and device manufacturers to help
develop and sell new products and services to encourage further broadband
usage," says Kenneth Liew, senior market analyst, Communications Research, IDC
Asia/Pacific.
