Abstract
This IDC study presents IDC' s predictions of the most prominent trends
impacting the Australia telecommunications market in 2008. Politics, mobile,
and fixed-line broadband services, the surge in unified communications (UC)
deployment, and the continued growth in IP and voice over broadband (VoBB)
combine to make for a dynamic market place in 2008.
"The Australia telecommunications market will reach almost A$30 billion spend
in 2008. Broadband access in both its wireless and wireline forms will continue
to drive the agenda and competition will intensify. 2008 will be one of the
most defining years in Australia telecommunications history," says David
Cannon, program manager, Telecommunications Australia.
