Abstract
This study presents IDC' s top 10 predictions for the European server
infrastructure market in 2008. It details and analyzes the market dynamics
leading to each prediction. "2007, which saw the large-scale adoption of
technology such as blade, servers, multicore, and virtualization, marked a
watershed in the European enterprise server market and in the business of IT
transformation," said Nathaniel Martinez, program manager with IDC European
Systems and Infrastructure Solutions. "IDC expects most of these changes to
accelerate in 2008, resulting in a greater metamorphosis of the European IT
infrastructure landscape."
