Abstract
The IDC study gives an overview of the present use and future deployments in
the next 12-24 months of Internet access services, broadband, IP VPN, and IP
applications adoption across the Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) or APEJ region.
Findings are analyzed by countries.
"There has been significant changes in IP usage and preferences in 2007' s
survey compared with the previous year' s findings. For example, 2006 IDC
Asia/Pacific' s Comms06 Survey' s top 3 key IP VPN applications were firewall,
Internet access, and remote access have been replaced with hosting, VoIP, and
customer relationship management (CRM)/enterprise resource planning (ERP). It
is apparent that enterprises across the region are moving toward adopting newer
technologies and bandwidth hungry applications," says Claus Mortensen, research
manager, IDC Asia/Pacific.
