Abstract
This IDC study provides a market sizing and forecasts of the mobile device
security software market. This study discusses the adoption trends of mobile
devices and usage of associated applications, and how this will affect the
emerging mobile device security software market in the Asia/Pacific (excluding
Japan) or APEJ region.
"The mobile device security software market in APEJ is estimated to be worth
about US$34 millions in 2007. This market is forecast to increase at a compound
annual growth rate (CAGR) of 36.7% from 2006 to 2011, to reach about US$125
million in 2011. Besides the fast-growing installed mobile device platform, the
demand for mobile email access, growing use of the mobile phone as a PIM, and
the increasing use of mobile devices for enterprise applications access will
also underpin the demand for security controls on these mobile devices," says
Wilvin Chee, research director, Software Research, IDC Asia/Pacific.
