Abstract
This IDC study presents a worldwide forecast for InfiniBand adoption as a
server interconnect for 2006-2011.
"The spending for InfiniBand-based solutions continues to grow at a faster rate
than overall server spending in IDC' s latest forecast," said Steve Josselyn,
research director, Enterprise Computing. "The growth is currently led by
increased usage in the HPC community, with some additional growth being driven
by virtualized storage environments, but we believe usage in commercial
datacenters will increase further in large server clustered environments where
high bandwidth and low latency are required."
