Abstract
This IDC study provides insights into end users' perspective of document
management solutions. It analyses the key accelerators for Australia
businesses' document management solution adoption as well as highlights their
corresponding inhibitors. Some of the key questions addressed in this study
include Australia businesses' reasons for deployment or non deployment of
document management solutions, the nature of solutions preferred, and end
users' overall experience with document management solution implementations.
Rishi Ghai, program manager, Hardcopy Peripheral Research, IDC Australia and
New Zealand (ANZ) says, "Australia organisations of all sizes and in all
vertical industries do not associate high levels of complexity with managing
paper/digital documents. This impression amplifies the challenge to demonstrate
the value and benefits that can be achieved from adopting a systematic approach
to document management. IDC research suggests that end users' discontentment
with document management solution implementations can escalate very quickly in
the absence of visible improvements in the short term. Vendors must work
closely with their clients to develop realistic service-level agreements (SLAs)
as well as periodically measure and communicate systems performance indicators
to avoid dissatisfaction buildup."
