Abstract
This IDC study examines the VPN security appliance market for the period
2006-2012, including vendor revenue shares and market revenue forecasts. It
will focus on products that are specifically intended to deliver secure,
clientless, and remote access to enterprise networks, applications, and data.
The study will size the market with 2006 and 2007 revenue, including market
shares of leading vendors. It will also discuss market trends and revenue
forecasts to 2012.
"The ability to provide secure remote access is even more essential as the
traditional network perimeter begins to fade with a growing number of remote
users and an expanding variety of mobile access devices. Network administrators
are looking for a fast and easy way to provide a secure tunnel to corporate
resources and applications. VPNs are still the solution of choice but are being
threatened by more comprehensive, all-in-one security platforms." - Andrew J.
