Abstract
This IDC update serves to highlight key adjustments made between the 4Q07 and
3Q07 versions of the IDC Asia/Pacific' s five-year IT spending forecasts that
can be found in following pivot tables, respectively - Asia/Pacific IT Spending
2007-2011 Forecast: The Asia/Pacific Black Book, January 2008 (Forthcoming) and
Asia/Pacific IT Spending 2007-2011 Forecast: The Asia/Pacific Blackbook,
October 2007 (IDC #AP381101P, January 2008)). This update includes forecast
figures and compound annual growth rates (CAGRs) for the period of 2007-2011 of
the following technology segments:
- Computer hardware systems, categorized into servers, PC, and traditional workstations
- Storage devices, categorized into disk storage systems and tapes
- Peripherals and add-ons, categorized into printers, smart handheld devices (SHDs), and other add-ons
- Networking equipment
- IT services, categorized into IT implementation, IT planning, maintenance and support operations, and IT training and education
- Packaged software, categorized into applications, application development and deployment (AD&D), and systems infrastructure
Notes:
- IDC has redefined the networking equipment line item to include wireless infrastructure forecast iterations. Moving forward, subsequent Black Books published quarterly will include this new addition.
- Data in this document is presented in constant 2006 U.S. dollars exchange rates.
