Abstract
IDC believes that unified communications (UC) will be one of the next major
waves of disruption in the ICT market, and specifically the enterprise market.
This IDC Industry Developments and Models document reviews the major drivers of
unified communications (UC) in the European enterprise, and backs it up with
relevant survey information. "IDC believes that major forces are driving
unified communications in Europe. These forces include the migration of voice
and data, the increasing importance of the network, and the movement towards
Enterprise 2.0. We also believe that in the future enterprises will
increasingly look at another element when solutions such as unified
communications can address CSR and green IT issues," said Chris Barnard,
research director, European Telecoms and Networking.
