Abstract
This IDC study examines the U.S. printer market by leading vendors in
individual technology, subtechnology, and speed segments. It analyzes vendor
market shares and factors leading to vendor performances in 2007. The study
discusses the market in 2007 by shipments, value of shipments in millions of
U.S. dollars, and ASV in U.S. dollars in the United States.
"The overall printer market will continue to decline in the near term. However,
the color laser printer market dynamics will continue to develop in both the
short term and long term. Both home and office end users are adopting color
laser devices because of falling hardware acquisition costs," said Akia Ramsay,
IDC' s U.S. research analyst for Hardcopy Peripherals.
