Abstract
This IDC study reports the findings of IDC' s latest online behavior survey.
Already, one out of three U.S. Internet users, more than 70 million consumers,
also accesses the Internet through a mobile device. This document answers
questions such as: What do consumers do on the mobile Internet? How far
advanced are mobile video consumption, social networking usage, and mobile
commerce? Which portal has the greatest reach?
"Mobile Internet usage will continue to spread among consumers at a rapid pace,
opening up exciting new business opportunities," said Karsten Weide, IDC' s
program director for New Media and Entertainment. "In particular, geoservices
such as mapping and driving directions offer the greatest utility to users."
