Abstract
This study discusses the market for hardcopy peripherals - single-function and
multi-functional. It does not cover point-of-sale printers or small-format
printers featuring widths of less than eight inches. It also does not cover
wide format (A0) products, sometimes known as plotters. The forecasts contain
data for the South Africa peripherals market from 2007 through 2011. Unit
shipments, value of shipments, and average street price (ASP) information is
presented. Data for 2006-2007 is actual, whereas data for 2008-2012 is
projected.
"Demand from the burgeoning SMB segment in South Africa is rising in terms of
volume and complexity. It is essential that vendors increase the standard of
support they provide to their channels so they can provide the complete imaging
and hardcopy solutions their clients are demanding, rather than mere high-end
hardware." - Gail Nienaber, Research Analyst, IDC South Africa
