This IDC study analyzes market dynamics and development trends regarding the
Linux OS by defining the size of the market in 2007 and providing revenue
forecast for the next five years, 2008-2012. It includes a revenue breakdown by
Linux client operating environment (COE) and server operating environment (SOE).

attained better adoption in industries and regional customers, which means
Linux began to change its main battlefield from government antiprivacy to
