This IDC study forecasts the market opportunity for ultra-low-cost notebook
products. "Although the concept of a low-cost small size notebook that delivers
a PC-like Internet experience in a closer to smartphone-size package is
undeniably appealing, we believe these ultra-low-cost notebook devices could
end up becoming awkward tweeners. They won' t satisfy many people beyond the
expected audience of early adopters and gadget hounds, especially if vendors
