Abstract
In this IDC study, we expect the Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) or APEJ
hardware deployment and support market to grow at a rate of some 9.2% and will
be worth an estimated US$8.4 billion by 2012. This growth will continue to come
from the region' s emerging markets that will be expected to continue with
infrastructure buildouts, technology refreshes, and will enjoy the use of new
services delivery models, all of which are discussed in this study.
The market, however, will also have its growth impeded by some key factors.
According to Eugene Wee, research manager of IT Services, "market maturity and
a greater acceptance of outsourcing, consolidation, and virtualization and even
Green IT are forcing enterprises to use less hardware or even take them out of
the equation; this will impede hardware growth and therefore the services
around the support of this hardware."
