Abstract
This IDC study provides an update to its five-year forecast for the Australia
cellular (mobile) market through a comprehensive overview, delving into the key
components of the nonvoice market. This study reviews the major developments,
operator profiles, and key performance indicators or KPIs (subscribers and
service revenue), as well as market projections by platform, service, activity,
and billing from 2007 to 2012. Key essential guidance designed to assist
mobile operators and stakeholders address tactical opportunities, as well as
fuel strategic initiatives and developments.
"The mobile services industry is entering a key transition period as mobile
subscriber penetration is gone above the 100% mark. Continued voice average
revenue per user (ARPU) and strong growth in data ARPU makes the basis of
competition amongst mobile operators," says Waqas Javed, senior analyst, Mobile
Services, IDC Australia.
