Abstract
This IDC study presents IDC' s market sizing and spending forecast for Canadian
information systems outsourcing (ISO) and network and desktop outsourcing
services (NDOS) services. The Canadian ISO services and NDOS market grew by
4.01% in 2007, and IDC estimates that the industry represents approximately
C$5.9 billion in revenue. IDC forecasts that the Canadian infrastructure
outsourcing market in 2008 will grow by 5.2%, or C$278 million, to reach C$6.2
billion in revenue. IDC further anticipates that the outsourcing market will
grow by a compound annual growth rate of 3.5% over the next five years and
approach $7 billion by 2012.
"IDC anticipates that outsourcing vendors in the upcoming year will continue to
find it challenging to win business and maintain high profit margins with
existing business. Intense competition, low growth, and strong buying leverage
will make 2008 a difficult market," says Mark Schrutt, research manager,
Outsourcing Services.
