Abstract
This IDC study describes the innovative applications of China' s egovernment
development that were emerging one after another in 2007 as well as the
milestone projects and promotion demonstration projects that have obtained
remarkable achievement. eGovernment' s management system is more complete, and
building of service-oriented government has become the important demand for
egovernment development. Therefore, the implementation of new policies in
connection with the Super Ministry System reform, Green government procurement,
Opinions on Promoting National E-government Network Construction, 2006, and
procurement of domestic products in priority will lead the future direction of
egovernment development. Through the planning and design in 2006, egovernment
development in 2007 entered the construction year of the
11th Five-Year Plan and the investment size amounted to
RMB 46.75 billion (US$6.1 billion). IDC forecasts that by 2012, the IT market
size of the government industry will amount to RMB 74.32 billion (US$9.8
billion), with a 2007-2012 compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 9.7%.

constructions will have fast growth. By 2012, the market size of the
application solutions will amount to RMB 13.14 billion (US$1.7 billion), with a
2007-2012 CAGR of 20.6%, higher than that of the overall governmental IT
