Abstract
This IDC study represents the market size and forecast for the New Zealand IT
services market across the five-year forecast period (2008-2012), complete with
macroeconomic and technological forecast assumptions. Highlighting key trends
driving each of the services markets, IDC presents an analysis of each of the
12 foundation markets in turn. This study is followed by three more studies
presenting a more detailed analysis of each of the IT services macromarkets:
consulting and systems integration (SI) services (project-based services
macromarket), outsourcing, and infrastructure.
"The much talked about labour shortage has accelerated the need for IT
outsourcing in New Zealand. Organisations seeking to minimise the complications
associated with recruitment, training, and retention in a tight labour market
are increasingly turning to IT services firms. This, in turn, has resulted in
offshoring seen in a new light both by organisations and their service
providers," said Stefan Nordbruch, market analyst, IT Services, IDC New
Zealand.
