Abstract

This IDC study answers the following questions regarding notebook PC brand and channel preferences among small and medium-sized businesses:

  • Which desktop PC brands do they currently own?
  • How loyal are they to the desktop PC brands that they own?
  • Which desktop PC brands are they planning to purchase?
  • Which channels are they using for PCs?
  • Which channels for PCs do they prefer to use in the future?
  • How loyal are they to the channels they are currently using for PCs?

"As the PC market approaches saturation, the small and medium-sized business market is characterized by sales of replacement, upgrade, and additional PCs representing an increasing share of shipments" said Justin Jaffe, IDC senior research analyst, SMB/Home Office. "It is important for vendors hoping to capture a share of this growing market to understand the changing brand and channel preferences for desktop PCs."
