Abstract
This IDC study details the performance of the Canadian server market and major
developments during 2007 and presents a forecast for the market for 2008-2012.
Detailed forecasts and the underlying assumptions and rationale used to develop
the forecasts are provided. The total customer spending in the Canadian server
market for 2007 was US$1.48 billion. Spending is expected to grow at a CAGR of
1.5% from 2008 to 2012.
"The slow growth rate in the Canadian server market presents a challenging
environment for server vendors to achieve significant revenue growth," said
Tarun Bhasin, senior research analyst, Canadian Server Market, IDC Canada. "To
be successful, vendors will need to focus on the high-growth segments such as
virtualization and blade servers, while at the same time addressing the
specific needs of different customers by offering the right product to the
right customer."
