This IDC study, based on IDC Canada' s telecom market model, presents our
updated five-year telecom services forecast as well as summary segmented
forecasts by customer segment, company size, industry sector and region. It is
an essential document for any player in the Canadian telecom services market.
"Fuelled by meteoric growth of cable telephony, the local VoIP and cable
telephony service segment has emerged as the fastest-growing subsegment in
Canadian telecom," says Steve Yang, associate analyst in the communications
practice at IDC Canada Ltd.
The study forecasts the Canadian VoIP and cable telephony segment will have a
five-year CAGR of 14 per cent based on forecast revenue of C$1.8 billion in
2008 rising to almost C$3.1 billion in 2012.
