Abstract
This IDC study presents the dynamics of IT applications and development trend
of China transportation industry through a detailed description of major
application solution markets and competition environment of China
transportation industry in 2007. It also provides a five-year forecast for
major IT application and solution markets and a competitive analysis of key
solution vendors for the transportation industry in 2007. In addition, it sheds
light on China manufacturing IT spending by solution.
"IDC estimates that the overall transportation IT spending totaled RMB 13.17
billion (US$1728.3 million) in 2007. In the next few years, China
transportation IT spending will maintain steady growth, with a 2007-2012
compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 12.6%. China transportation solution
market size totaled RMB 2.78 billion (US$364.8 million) in 2007, with a
2007-2012 CAGR of 17.9%. The transportation solutions market will maintain
steady growth in the next few years. Among all transportation solutions, civil
aviation business management solutions took the biggest market share and will
maintain relatively high growth rate in the next few years; informization in
newly built airports and IT upgrading of existing airports, as well as
informization of airline companies to improve efficiency of flight operations,
are drivers for the development of the civil aviation solution market. In the
next few years, the subway and rail transportation in many cities across the
country will develop rapidly, driving the development of the solution market.
With improvement of group-based airport operations and management of railway
authorities, the market of management solutions such as OA and enterprise
resource planning (ERP) among other solutions, will keep relatively higher
growth rate," says Leon Xiao, market analyst, IDC China.
