Abstract
This IDC study (which is a translation of the Japanese report IDC #J8140112)
examines the revenue in Japan disk storage system market by industry and by
company for the period from 2006 to 1H07, and also presents a forecast of the
market until 2011. The revenue of the Japan disk storage system market by
industry was forecasted from the viewpoints of OS, connection environment
(DAS/SAN/NAS), and external/internal storages. The revenue by company size was
analyzed and forecasted by external/internal storages.
"To achieve further growth in the market, suppliers should study ways to
generate demand in fields with high potential for growth, develop new segments
through the use of existing solutions, and continue to strengthen the existing
segments," observes Ayuchi Takamatsu, research analyst, Storage Systems, IDC
Japan.
