Abstract
This IDC study quantifies the U.S. copier market opportunity in detail and
analyzes its issues, trends, and product advances. It includes both monochrome
(analog and digital) and color copier forecasts. The forecasts contain data for
the U.S. copier market from 2003 through 2012. Unit shipment, value of
shipment, and average shipment value (ASV) information is presented. Data for
2003-2007 is actual, whereas data for 2008-2012 is projected.
"The shift from black and white to color is becoming more pronounced. The
decline of $2.5 billion in shipment value of monochrome copiers from 2007 to
2012 is expected to be in part offset by the estimated $1.4 billion projected
increase in color copier shipment value during the same period. The marketplace
is dependent on this migration for long-term market strength." - Sue Lyon,
