Abstract
"The U.K. mobile communications market is one of the most mature in Western
Europe, and is highly competitive. The market is saturated at well past 100%
penetration, and operators are now heavily focused on retention and growing the
value of existing customers, rather than customer acquisition. Mobile broadband
is growing rapidly in the market, and could represent a way for operators to
shore up declining voice ARPUs," said Jonathan Arber, senior research analyst
for IDC' s European Consumer Wireless and Mobile Communications Service.
