Abstract
This IDC study (which is a translation of the Japanese report IDC #J8460102)
analyses the trends in Japan IT services market and forecasts the growth of
market from 2008 through 2012 based on the situation in 2007. IDC' s advice to
services vendors is also included.
The Japan IT service market in 2007 continued to grow steadily, backed by new
constructions that improved work efficiency and an expansion in IT outsourcing
demands. The support training market is expected to see a halt in the fall of
its growth rates. In the long-term, Japan IT service market will continue to
grow. "Between 2008 and 2009, changes may occur in the construction segment of
the market due to problems like subprime issues, oil prices inflation, and
uncertainties in Japan economy. Therefore, IT services vendors should continue
to enhance their delivery system and search for new investment opportunities,"
observes Yukiharu Yorifuji, group manager, IT Services, IDC Japan.
