Abstract

This IDC study presents the results and analysis of the IDC' s Asia/Pacific Software Survey, 2008 conducted among 1,004 participants across the key Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) or APEJ countries - Australia, India, Korea, and the People' s Republic of China (PRC). The results found in this survey provide insights into the respondents' investment plans, challenges, and considerations with regard to application development and deployment (AD&D) software and related services.

"The AD&D software market in the APEJ region was estimated at US$3,777.3 million in 2007 and is expected to reach US$6,331.3 million by 2012, significantly driven by the PRC and India. Security remains the pinnacle of these enterprises' concerns while they struggle to cope with the lack of expertise resources, resulting in bottlenecks for growth in this highly diversified yet promising region," says Adren Lim, market analyst, System Infrastructure and Middleware Software Research, IDC Asia/Pacific.
