Abstract

This IDC study reports the performance of unified communications (UC) vendors in 2006 and 2007, across different UC product segments and countries. The product segments are classified under two UC functional segments - Enterprise Collaboration and Customer Interaction. In 2007, the total UC revenue in Asia/Pacific (Excluding Japan) or APEJ was US$603.3 million. This study provides vendor revenue for each UC product segment for year-end 2006 and 2007. In addition, it also provides a breakdown of the 2007 vendor revenues for each UC product segment by countries.

"At this early stage of UC adoption in the Asia/Pacific region, the market needs extraordinary acts of collaboration from UC suppliers to respond rapidly to enterprises' needs," says Shalini Verma, research manager, Communications Research, IDC Asia/Pacific. "Vendors need to take continuous feedback from channels regarding the customers' integration needs and build-easy methodologies to deliver such integration capabilities. This should be a constant iterative exercise to improve the implementation of UC solutions."
