Abstract
2007 was a very strong year for the Danish project services market, which grew
from DKK 10.8 billion to DKK 11.8 billion, with growth of 8.5%.
"The market has been characterized by lack of available resources, which has
caused a build up of potential projects for vendors," said Brian Troelsen,
research manager at IDC Nordic.
Going forward, IDC expects a lower level of activity, coming down from a very
high level. This means that vendors should consider moving into more
recession-proof activities such as outsourcing.
"The apparent success of agile and flexible tier 2 and tier 3 players will
continue to have an impact on some of the more inert tier 1 players," said
Troelsen. "However, as times eventually get tougher, some key employees from
the second and third tier may seek a safe haven in tier 1."
