Abstract
This IDC study sizes and forecasts the market in Western Europe for direct
business Internet access services. It presents total Internet access
connections and spending by country, access technology, and company size.
According to James Eibisch, research director for IDC' s European Telco
Strategies, "Although demand remains extremely high for basic Internet access,
the overall market is expected to decline slightly due to an increasing
proportion of company sites accessing the Internet via a central gateway on a
WAN or VPN, continued price erosion, and migration from leased-line to cheaper
broadband services."
