Abstract
This study contains an assessment of the Western European DSL equipment market
in 2007 and a detailed forecast for 2008-2012. Shipment and revenue
expectations are provided, by country for DSL network equipment and customer
premises equipment. The DSL network equipment forecast are further segmented by
DSL flavor (ADSL, G.SHDSL, VDSL), while the CPE forecast is broken down by form
factor (standalone modems and devices with integrated modem).
"As decreasing levels of subscriber additions have started to inhibit the
development of the DSL equipment market in Western Europe, it is high time for
vendors to start considering their strategic alternatives in this segment,"
said Jan Hein Bakkers, research manager at IDC' s European Telecommunication and
Networking team.
