Abstract
During 2007, the fastest growing players in Europe included some European IT
services players (e.g., Logica and OBS), India-based players (e.g., TCS,
Infosys, and Wipro), some pure-play business services vendors (e.g., Xchanging,
Capita, and Teleperformance), and many local/regional players. "With few
exceptions, acquisition remains the main driver for revenue growth in 2007,"
said Laura Converso, research manager, European Services Market and Competitive
Insights program. "However, India-based companies such as TCS, Infosys, and
Wipro mainly grew through organic growth. Pure-play offshore vendors are
quickly penetrating the European services market due to an increasing
acceptance in key geographies, such as the Nordics, Benelux, and Germany,
combined with their need to reduce the dependence on a low-growth U.S. market."
