This IDC report examines the various security measures that MFP vendors are
offering for their products. Both the current state of offerings and emerging
trends are evaluated.
"The marketplace requirements for security around both documents and the
processes that manage them continues to grow. We can expect new government
regulations to be passed in the future in response to the mortgage crisis
currently unfolding in the market. These new regulations, in tandem with
existing financial and healthcare regulations around security, will pose both
challenges and opportunities for vendors as they pursue leveraging their MFP
devices in more complicated business processes," said Michael Orasin, research
