Abstract
This IDC study provides detailed analysis, conclusions, and forecasts regarding
the dynamics of the North Africa (Algeria, Morocco, and Tunisia) personal
computer market. The information in this study is intended to provide an
understanding of the changes and challenges facing the PC industry. IDC' s 2007
figures and analysis are based on information gathered from interviews with the
leading IT companies (vendors, distributors, assemblers, system integrators,
value-added resellers, and dealers) active in the region.
"The North Africa region is pursuing a two-fold strategy as it bridges the
digital divide with government-backed initiatives and education projects while
striving to build an IT-intensive and services-oriented economy. Vendors need
to address these two dimensions in their offerings if they are to benefit from
the tremendous growth the North Africa PC market is poised to experience in the
coming years." - PC and Systems Research Analyst Rachid Belfekih, IDC North
