Abstract
This study presents and analyzes the results of key content management and
document management (CM/DM) software issues from IDC' s European Vertical
Markets Survey 2007. More specifically, the study examines the European
attitudes and plans for CM applications. The European Vertical Markets Survey
2007 was carried out in August/November 2007 among 2,077 companies with more
than 20 employees in the U.K., France, Germany, Italy, and Spain. The study
also provides essential guidance on key strategic priorities for CM/DM vendors.
Nearly 14% of European companies are looking to spend on a CM solution by
building a new solution or enhancing the old one. "The IDC survey shows that
demand for new CM solutions is particularly high in Germany, France, and Italy,
and there is a great interest in looking to buy the CM/DM software
functionality as a service," said Anne-Lise Wang, research vice president for
IDC' s European software research.
