Abstract
The LCD TV market in Europe has grown rapidly to become the world' s largest,
replacing North America. Many international TV brands, seeing this huge market
opportunity, in 2005 started announcing plans to establish manufacturing bases
in Europe and enter the market. Due to differences in each European country' s
TV signals as well as governments' intention to promote their local TV
industries, there has been a proliferation of regional TV brands in Europe.
With the rise of the LCD TV market, local CRT TV brands will be faced with
various challenges. This report will analyze international and regional LCD TV
brands' developments in Europe and how local CRT TV brands respond to the next
wave of competition through M&A activities and reorganization.
