Abstract
With Japanese, Korean, and Taiwanese panel manufacturers turning their
attention to TFT-LCD, the global flat panel display industry is decreasing
investment in TN/STN-LCD. But TN/STN-LCD panels still have price advantages
and are still needed in certain products, particularly in consumer electronics
products such as MP3 players and small household appliances.China is the
global center of consumer electronics product manufacturing, and technological
and financial barriers for TN/STN-LCD production are relatively low, making it
attractive to many Chinese manufacturers. This report contains an analysis of
leading small- and medium-sized TN/STN-LCD panel manufacturers in China,
including Tianma, Lanser, Truly, and Jiya.
