After Color Industry Competition Trends in Small- and Medium-sized TFT Panels for Mobile Phones

An estimated 1.1 billion mobile phones will be sold in 2007, roughly 90% of them color phones. The primary technologies used in these phones are a-Si and LTPS TFT-LCD, which together account for 60% of the color mobile phone display panel market. Advances in display panel technology have lead to growth in the mobile phone display panel industries in Taiwan, Japan, and Korea. As TFT technology has come into the mainstream, this report analyzes competition trends among the Japanese, Korean, and Taiwanese makers of TFT panels for mobile phones.
