Leading the way in Low-cost Notebook PC Development Eee PCs and OLPCs

While the notebook PCs that are being developed for the OLPC project have yet to be launched, ASUS' Eee PC has already gone on sale, on October 16, 2007. Whereas the OLPC notebook PCs are designed to be used by children in Third World countries, ASUS is targeting ordinary consumers in developed nations; the basic concept behind the two products is thus very different. This report will compare the strategies that have been formulated for ASUS' Eee PC and for the OLPC notebook PCs, along with the special features and applications of these PCs.
