Abstract
The ICT industry has energized the economic development of Southern India and
local people' s average incomes. Many foreign and Indian companies have been
drawn to the industrial parks built in the so-called "Golden Triangle" made up
of Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad. The buying power of people employed at
these parks and the park tenants has made Southern India a key regional market
in India. This report looks at Southern India' s environment as a whole and
examines the development of the mobile phone, television, PC and electronics
component markets in this region.
