Abstract
The overall Taiwanese mobile handheld device shipment volume arrived at nearly
25.7 million units in the first quarter of 2008. Shipment volume of
basic/feature phones not equipped with open source operating systems topped
19.5 million units, representing a shipment share of 76.0%. Shipment of smart
cellular devices equipped with open source operating systems, including both
Smartphones and PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) phones reached about 6.2
million units, representing a share of 24.0%.
