Abstract
Taiwanese large-area TFT-LCD (Thin Film Transistor Liquid Crystal Display)
panel shipment volume arrived at nearly 51.4 million units, slipping 1.7%
sequentially on off-season effects but growing 36.5% in comparison with the
first quarter of 2007. It is expected that demand for display products will
remain robust in 2008, and panel makers have no large-scale production
expansion planned for 2008. As a result, even during the traditional
off-season, large-area TFT-LCD panel shipment remained strong on major brands'
advanced stocking efforts in anticipation of short supply.
